Lifeline Pilots

When transportation is a barrier in reaching much needed medical treatment, LifeLine Pilots can be the solution. LifeLine Pilots was founded in 1981 by Wanda Whitsitt of Champaign, IL. Her original mission has grown from a few pilots to nearly 450 pilots throughout a 15 Midwest state area. Free air transportation is offered to financially stressed individuals that are in need of medical treatment at a location that is distant from their homes. Flights are facilitated through volunteer pilots who receive no compensation. LifeLine Pilots also facilitates flights for humanitarian needs such as caregiver exchange or final wish fulfillment. LifeLine Pilots mission is possible through the generosity of pilots, private foundations and citizens. To qualify for a flight, become an outreach volunteer or volunteer pilot, call LifeLine Pilots at 1-800-822-7972.
