Last year after contemplating several ways to raise money for children with Neuroblastoma, I decided to color my hair green for St. Patrick's Day and then allow the contributors a chance to design several hairstyles for me to wear, which eventually led to a shaved head. The Green then Gone fundraiser was born. With the success of last year's fundraiser, I decided it was time to expand the green this year. I sent out an invitation to join the green hair team to my co-workers and received several replies. So, for this year's St. Patrick's Day, twelve of us showed up for work with various shades of green hair. The Manic Panic people in New York graciously donated all hair products, the Horizon shirt company in Wichita provided all participants commemorative T-shirts, and several local hair stylists mixed it all together to create some great looking green doos. Since several of the women that participated requested the non-shaved head option, the rules of what gone really meant were...adjusted, though several of us went for the full cue ball look anyway. We raised $9,000 dollars this year which all went to the CNCF to help find a cure and support children and families battle this disease. Now that this year's fundraiser is completed, it's time to think about other ways to expand the green hair. Though my stepson Justin Gray has finished his battle with neuroblastoma, my wife Dona and I will continue to battle for those that are currently fighting and to keep as many children as possible from having to fight. Join us in the battle next year and help us spread the green as we try to rid this world of neuroblastoma.

Who will be the next one to join Patrick? Maybe you?

Dear Family and Friends,

My name is Kelly Cannon, Creative Memories Independent Consultant, and I need your help! I am planning a “Hope for Beau” fundraiser to benefit the Children’s Neuroblastoma Cancer Foundation (CNCF) in honor of my nephew, Beau Stanley. The fundraiser is scheduled for Saturday, July 28th from 9am-5pm at the First Pentecostal Holiness Church Annex located at 204 Brinkley Road, Greenville, NC.

The “Hope for Beau” fundraiser will include available Creative Memories Products and a Storybook about Beau for purchase with a percentage of proceeds donated to the foundation. Also, if you are a scrapbooker, you are invited to my workshop to complete albums and bring friends to schedule a Get Together that will benefit Beau. We will also have a “Silent Auction” of various items at the event and online. To participate in the Silent Auction beginning July 16th online, please visit www.beaustanley.com. Please email Kelly Cannon at kellylcannon@yahoo.com for more details about how you can participate with the “Hope for Beau” fundraiser.

Let me introduce you to Beau…A handsome, blue-eyed little boy with a brave soul! Beau was diagnosed with High Risk Stage 3 Neuroblastoma on November 17, 2006 at the young age of 17 months. Beau’s proud parents, Parham and Jennifer Stanley, have been blessed by many donations and supporters throughout this trying time in their life, and they want to give back! Let’s help them ensure that Beau and other children can have the best research available to find a cure for Neuroblastoma.

Neuroblastoma is a solid tumor cancer that accounts for 97% of the cancers of the Sympathetic Nervous System. Neuroblastoma tumors typically begin in the nerve tissue in the neck, chest, abdomen, or pelvis. Mostly, a tumor originates in the abdomen in the tissue of the adrenal gland. The average age of diagnosis for this cancer is two years old.

As you can see, awareness of this childhood cancer is a must! Please join me in donating to support CNCF, an organization dedicated to educate and cure Neuroblastoma!

My goal for this fundraiser is to raise $5,000.

This goal can be reached with your help! Donations are tax deductible and sincerely appreciated. Thank you in advance for your contribution to this worthy cause!

My name is Laura Gonzalez, I’m a mom of two, a certified chocoholic, and I’m training for my first triathlon. Most of you must be wondering if I’ve lost my mind, and yes, sometimes I wonder that myself! But mostly what runs through my mind while training is how incredibly fortunate I am to have the gift of my health. I’ve decided to complete this triathlon in order to honor those young people fighting for their own health, through the Children’s Neuroblastoma Cancer Foundation.

A year ago October, my friend’s 8-month old son, Lorenzo (Enzo), was suddenly admitted into Children’s Hospital in San Diego. It was discovered that he had a large tumor in his abdominal area. He was diagnosed with neuroblastoma. Enzo and his parents fought for 6 difficult months until his passing in April of 2004. Enzo is my honored teammate. I’m going to complete this race for him and those families who are struggling with the illness or loss of a child to neuroblastoma.

I am committed to raising $2,500 for the Children’s Neuroblastoma Cancer Foundation. As many of you reading this know too well, it is a helpless feeling to watch someone suffer and to be completely powerless. This is my way of finally being able to do something to help.

The Spring Sprint Triathlon happens May 1, 2005 at South Shores Park near Sea World. It’s a 400m swim/9 mi bike/5K run. This is a significant milestone for me, one that I never dreamed I could achieve. Having known Enzo, and to know there are so many others in similar circumstances, is an incredibly powerful motivation.

Whatever you can give to further this cause will help. Please help me reach my goal! I have already been lucky enough to find several generous sponsors, including the Walk and Run running store in Bonita, CA and Opix Sports photography in San Diego for the donation of race photos.

You can also donate towards my goal online! Just go to www.active.com/donate/Lauratriathlon.

The issuance of this license plate is a major victory for our children. It has shown the vision and willingness of the Governor and General Assembly to take the next step to help us win our battle.

In June 2001, Pat Tallungan, President of Children's Neuroblastoma Cancer Foundation, met with Representative Carole Pankau and Senator Doris Karpiel to discuss having a license plate that would recognize the children who are diagnosed with Neuroblastoma. A short meeting and a couple of letters led to the introduction of this very important legislation. We would like to thank them, Governor Ryan and members of the General Assembly for their efforts and express our greatest appreciation for their belief in our cause.

I am proud to be a part of this state-wide awareness campaign that acknowledges the courage of these children, some of whom have lost their battle while others bravely continue to fight. It is for Nick, Jacob, Steven, Patrick, Sarah, Sammy, Daniel, Francesca, Joshua, Michael, Cody, Kristin, Tyler, Jared, but to name a few.

This legislation requires that we obtain 850 pre-sold orders or interested people before they will be issued. You need only to contact the Secretary of State's office and have your name put on the list. Once we have reached our goal of 850, the Secretary of State will send out a letter/application for the issuance of the plate.

You can call, write or email the Secretary of State's office at:

Secretary of State
501 S. This is for those who have already renewed their standard plates. The annual renewal fee is $105. A portion of the first time fee and $25 of the renewal fee will go into a fund to be paid as a grant to the American Cancer Society for Neuroblastoma education and research.

Lunch for Life

Hello and welcome,

My name is Mark Dungan but, perhaps, I am better known as "Daddy" to a beautiful 3 year old little girl. Sydney, my daughter, was diagnosed with Stage IV Neuroblastoma in June of 2003. She continues her struggle but serves as a constant reminder of how strong and resilient our little children are. Although she has received over 6 rounds of high dose induction chemotherapy, multiple surgeries, a stem cell transplant, 12 rounds of radiation and months and months of immunotherapy and maintenance chemotherapy there is no guarantee that she will survive. Neuroblastoma is an extremely difficult cancer to beat and she, like thousands of others, fight this battle with little guarantee of a future.

It was her inspiration and others that led hundreds of families to unite to try and fund the cure. We started "Lunch for Life" in an effort to save our children and the thousands that will follow. The concept is simple. We are asking everyone in the world to give up lunch for one day and donate the money to research. All funds raised through "Lunch for Life" go directly to research. It is an easy price to pay and, if we can get enough of the world to take a stand against childhood cancer, thousands and thousands of lives will be saved.

Please help us change the world. It is just one lunch out of your life and it will be the very gift that provides thousands of children with just that -- Life! Please donate your lunch money to the Children's Neuroblastoma Cancer Foundation and help us eradicate this monster. Give up a lunch. Spread the word. We will save lives.

Sincerely,

He's at it again....... Eric Cook is racing Michigan's only 100-mile mountain bike race, called the Lumberjack 100, and needs YOUR support. "No, I'm not asking for you to help pedal, fill my water bottles or give me a push up the hills. What I am asking for is your financial support to help fight a nasty form of childhood cancer. To tie in with the distance of my event, I'm asking for "per-mile" sponsors... Interested? Since the race is 100 miles, that makes the math pretty easy, eh?!"

Why am I asking for your hard-earned money? Well, I'm riding for the Children's Neuroblastoma Cancer Foundation (CNCF for short) and raising money to help them find a cure. A very rare form of childhood cancer, Neuroblastoma affects roughly 600 children per year and there is no known cure for the disease.
